Week 2

Happy, Healthy, Purposeful was created from my own desire to improve. I am constantly looking for ways to expand my knowledge, health and career and I am excited to embark on this journey with you all. I have been playing competitive golf for 13 years and have been playing professionally since 2014. Throughout this journey I have realized how important it is to live a Happy, Healthy and Purposeful life no matter what your path may be. We are all on different journeys but my hope is that we can grow together. 

Happy

I am at my happiest when I am enjoying the moment and living free of stress, fear, or doubt. This week I have benefitted from taking 30 minutes at the end of my day to unwind by reading. I am currently reading The Matchmaker by Elin Hilderbrand. Its a great way to take my mind of the stress of the day, clear my head and get ready to begin a new day.

Healthy

I have never been a runner. Ever. But recently I signed up for a 5K so I knew I would have to do a lot of training to even get through it! I have run 5K at least twice a week, for 4 weeks leading up to the race, setting a new goal each time. I found so much pride in improving especially since this is something totally new for me. My point through this is that exercise is a great way to find confidence and feel great about yourself especially when you set a goal and accomplish it. My challenge for you this week is to complete these two HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training) to get your health kickstarted! Time yourself and try to improve each round. You will be amazed how great it feels when you are done and it will really set the tone for everything else you do this week. It’s so much easier to make healthy choices when you feel good about yourself. 

 

Abs interval workout:

Directions-

Complete the following circuit 4 times, resting 1 minute after the burpees in each round.

Crunches: 50

V ups: 15

Situps: 15

Squat Jumps: 10

Burpees: 15

 

Jump rope finisher:

Directions-

Complete the following circuit 4 times, resting 1 minute after jumping rope in each round.

Mountain Climbers: 45

Pushups: 10

Front Plank: 1 min.

Jump Rope: 1 min.

Purposeful

 

 

With so much devastation happening lately I think it is important to be the light in someone’s life. Do what you can to make someone’s day a little brighter. Whether that's giving a stranger a compliment, tipping a little extra to your waitress or doing something kind for a loved one. We all need to do our part to spread some good throughout the world. You never know what someone is going through. And you might just inspire them to do the same for someone else.
