Week 7

Happy, Healthy, Purposeful was created from my own desire to improve. I am constantly looking for ways to expand my knowledge, health and career and I am excited to embark on this journey with you all. I have been playing competitive golf for 13 years and have been playing professionally since 2014. Throughout this journey I have realized how important it is to live a Happy, Healthy and Purposeful life no matter what your path may be. We are all on different journeys but my hope is that we can grow together.

With my recent trip to India, I have realized how big of a role perspective can play in our happiness. I got to see a different part of the world which came with a different culture, way of life, and overall a different perspective. Something that I took away was that so many people are so much happier with so much less. If we look around us, we can see many different kinds of struggles. Its how we respond and view the hard times that affects our quality of life moving forward. We can either dwell on all that we don't have, or choose to put value in what we do have. Try to find a few ways that you are blessed in your life and choose to be happy and thankful for your blessings. Life is all about perspective!

This week I wanted to provide you all with a workout I am loving to make sure we all get our butts in the gym! Golf is both a strength and endurance sport so my workouts are designed with this in mind. And yes, golfers do workout. Now more than ever, it is essential to prepare and condition your body to not only perform but to withstand all the wear and tear that so much practice/playing can cause.

Warm up:

- Start by doing 10 min treadmill walks with a 13% incline

Workout: Circuit- Set a timer for 15 min and complete as many rounds as possible.

-Goblet Squats x10 (You can add a band around your knees for added resistance)

-Alternating Lunges x7 each leg

-Flutter Kicks x20

-30 sec plank

One thing I have found to be true, no matter what you are trying to accomplish is that people will always doubt you. The path to success is long, winding, and unclear. At times it will feel much easier to just give up and not follow through with whatever it is you may be pursuing- a new job, a new house, or a new city. But nothing good ever comes easy. Don't be afraid to take risks and never apologize. No one knows the goals of your heart and mind but you. Appreciate the positive, and be willing to accept the criticism with an open mind but never let others opinions' define you.
