Week 3

Happy, Healthy, Purposeful was created from my own desire to improve. I am constantly looking for ways to expand my knowledge, health and career and I am excited to embark on this journey with you all. I have been playing competitive golf for 13 years and have been playing professionally since 2014. Throughout this journey I have realized how important it is to live a Happy, Healthy and Purposeful life no matter what your path may be. We are all on different journeys but my hope is that we can grow together.

Happy

Its so important to my happiness that I am rested and feeling my best. In order to get enough rest I have had to learn to say no... and not feel guilty about it! It's difficult when you have an invitation to dinner or a night out but just don't feel up to it. I used to find myself saying yes just for the fear of missing out. I know there are voices in your head telling you “But its a Friday.” or “Everyone else is going out, you’re going to miss all the fun”. I have been there plenty of times. There are nights where socializing is good for you and fun is much needed. But don’t be afraid to say no if you don't have enough energy or feel like you should get some rest. There’s nothing wrong with a relaxing night at home after a long week at work. Listen to your body and don’t let yourself get into the cycle of going nonstop with no rest. Give yourself time to recover from the stress you may be under. And of course enjoy yourself when you feel up to it!

Healthy

One thing I am constantly reminding myself of is to drink enough water. When I am not on the course I tend to forget to hydrate. Whether running errands, sitting on the couch or at the desk always always always have water next to you. One way I ensure I am drinking enough is to drink at least 8 ounces in the morning before I start getting ready. I have found it helpful to carry a large bottle with me throughout the day. Staying hydrated has helped my skin, hair and my energy levels.

I love adding citrus, mint, or berries to give me extra flavor as well as nutrients! Here are some of my favorite combos-

- Orange and Strawberry with mint

- Lemon and Rasberries

- Cucumber and Pineapple

Purposeful

Living a purposeful life has so many meanings to me and my definition is constantly changing. Everyone has their own purpose and ways they contribute to the world and those around them. Golf has been my purpose for a majority of my life but as I evolve I have learned I have many things to offer and ways I can contribute to others. I have channeled my energy into writing, reading and multiple side jobs. I have been doing a lot of things I have never done before.

I find it important to continue working and setting goals. Having an injury, or a setback of any kind is extremely frustrating but you cant let it get you down. Tackle your setbacks with positive energy and find an outlet to continue being purposeful. It is definitely pushing me outside my comfort zone but I am becoming better for it! If you are continuing to put all of you effort into your projects or whatever it may be; you can't go wrong. You are only wrong when you give up.

Shop my Skechers Performance look! This tank top is so comfortable and flattering with a tie on the side. I am also linking similar leggings. The mesh insert makes them so much more breathable. And when the cooler weather comes I will be pairing it with this jacket. **Puppy is not included** :)
